<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The accused has shared his own side of the story, according to him, he didn't rape but had consensual sex with her three times. He also said that the lady is only accusing him of rape because he refused to give her the money which he had earlier promised her.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Few days after Christmas I decided to hang out with friends, so we drove to Kristal lounge. Getting there I saw this girl sitted with her friend. She was looking so good so I sent a waitress to help me call her, she responded and walked down to me. First of all I apologized for not going to her myself she told me her name and I asked her if I could take her home,she was okay with me taking her home but she made mentioned that I had to wait a bit so her friend can get someone to go home with her too that she was new around.I agreed to wait and she went back to her friend. After about 30mins my friend decided that we should leave Kristal lounge to Moscow so I called her back and exchanged numbers, that I was going to call her. I left wit my friends to Moscow getting there it was really dry we stayed there for about 1hr then we drove to sofa lounge walking down the stirs of sofa lounge I sighted this same set of girls already hooked up with 2 men wit big tommy,drinks lined up and they where all dancing. I couldn't go close but I waved at her, after which we did not even stay for anoda 5mins before we all decided to return home..so after then we kept chatting. I asked her what she does for living she told me she just finished service, she schooled at university of jos bla bla bla. I told her about my small hangout spot if she was interested in working with me and she said yes (I won't lie that I do not have any intention of giving her a job.I only used that to make my parole easier)she picked up interest and I promised to show her the place whenever she comes around.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">And that was all...on the 5th if January that was on a friday I chatted her up at around 4.30 asking if shes going to be free to come out and she replied saying her coming out will require making her hair(in my mind I was thinking what if she wants me to pay for the hair)so jokingly I told her to make her hair that I was going to pay for it. later she called me that she is already making her hair and I told her to keep me posted... Later she called me asking if I don't mind her friend coming with her..do I have anybody that I can hookup with her friend and I said she would have told me earlier, I would have talked to a friend buh next tym I promise I will hook her friend up. Then she mentioned that she has sent her account number and that hope i don't mind sending the money I intend to give before coming buh I told her not to wry that she is going to enjoy her stay. She also made mention that she would like to go clubbing and I told her not to wry anything she wants its fine. she can even change her clothes in my car. After a while she called me that she is at berger...I drove down to berger to pick her getting to berger I saw an old frnd of myn so I picked her up before picking Stella..so I drove down to lugbe to drop my old friend. We kept on gusting while we drove down to a sit out at maitama...she ordered for shisha and chapman she sat there for over an 1hr we decide to join my frnds at area 8 emirade garden. Getting there the place wasn't conducive for us the weather was too cold we decided to leave for vanilla at maitama.</span></div>

While we were there she left for the rest room leaving her purse I took 1k from her purse added it to the bill and wen she got back I told her I took her money and I was going to refund her and she agreed. So at 1am we all decided to leave for Moscow..went into my car she pulled her clothes in my car changing into her club wear she was almost naked in my car remaining her paint and bra after changing we drove down to Moscow my friends drove in their own car also...we did not stay so long at Moscow at around 2.30pm we were exhausted already and decide to leave, so my friends left us outside the club then we agreed to lodge cox my house was messed up..so we drove to gwarimpa looking for hotel to lodge we went into four different hotels but they were fully booked..finally we got an hotel they told us the price and I remembered that I did not have cash on me the only option was to make transfer. My battery was low I couldnt make transfers so stella agreed to transfer the money to her and I was going to refund her the next morning.. All of a sudden the receptionist said they only do cash no transfers, so I was trying to talk to the lady meanwhile stella had walked back to the car.I went back to the car to met stella asking her to make the transfer... I noticed a fowl play telling me she doesn't have the application on her phone, I got angry and entered the car.After leaving the club on our way to the hotel I complained of having headache she gave me 500 to get drugs on my way she called me back to ask if I have condom and I said no and she told me to buy from the money which I did. I told her since hotel is not working out lets go to my house tank God I already told you that its scattered. I got into my apartment she went straight into my rest room undressed herself and she was already in my bed...we had 3 rounds of sex with protection we both slept off with out quarrel nor argument. She woke me up at about 7am in the morning that she has to leave she that sometin to do wit her mum at 7.30 and she would soon start calling.I stood up quickly and ran into my car.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">then I drove her to berger that was where the whole trouble started..I told her not too worry that i was going to send sometin to her since I already had her accnt number, she refused and replied that a lot of guys have done the same thing to her claiming they will send her money and at the end they won't send(truely I dd not intend to send her any money I only wanted her to leave and I will just lock up.)buh with the way she was angry about the money.I decided to send 10k to her account immediately I mention let me send 10thousand into ur account she shouted who do you want give 10 thansand naira my money is 50k, that was wen I got angry and I came down from my car I went round to the passenger side and I shouted at her to get down from my car she refused.I tried to pull her by her hand she quick held my shirt by the neck I held her also by the neck, we started struggling,I noticed we were causing a scene I left her and I ran back into my car.She also followed me back into the car and I drove off.I told her I was going to take her to somewhere all those Hausa people will beat her and collect her phone hoping she was going to get scared. She did not even say a word, I drove to somewhere in gwarimpa. I parked and called one Hausa guy, I was speaking Hausa to the guy hoping she will just give up and go away but she still did not say a word.I left there and drove down to Jabi lake where I workout, I parked and started picking the necessary items I have in my car into the trunk. After that I wore my canvas trying to workout.I just told her when she gets tired she will go.the next thing I noticed was she sighted someone she knows and she shouted her name. when the girl got closer she just started crying the friend asked what happened then she mentioned he raped me. I was speechless, I shouted wha da fuck is wrong with you!..I quickly dragged her friend to one corner and explain everything to her the friend instantly she blamed me that why didnt I give her the money now and I explained why.the friend walked back to stella and told her to stop playing with the word rape you know how sensitive rape case could be and told her to follow her.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">She still refused that she won't leave until I give her the money, the friend promise thats she was going to give her the money that was how she mange to get down from my car the guys around told me to leave before people start gathering. And that was how we departed that day.....the next morning I woke up to see my pictures on Instagram claiming I raped her,I was confused, I started receiving calls left and right, from family and friends. Later from anonymous numbers people insulting me and accusing me of raping the girl. I got so confused, I drove to the nearest police station and I explained everything to them, they asked if I knew her house and I said no but they gave me their number that anywhere I sight her I should just give them a call. I went back home waiting for someone to come knock at my door..what baffles me most is people testifying that I have done the same thing to them. Almost 80girls said I have raped them. That was Wen I said to myself that this not going to be easy.I was confused although I couldn't even sleep at my house alone. The next day I was at work the trend kept going, my boss found out and told me to go back home. I went to my Anty and explained everything to her, she was mad at me and advised me not go to work. I tried to even search for this lady on her IG page I noticed she has deleted her account.I remembered she sent her account number to me, then I used the name to search for her on Facebook I was able to access her pictures and I saved few of them. The next day I noticed she had also changed her name on Facebook, that was when I figuredout nobody knows this girl's identity. She only did this to tarnish my image and left hers covered. I have her name, pictures and the school she graduated from but I won't expose her because it wasn't her fault, it was all mine i brought myself to the world. To cut the story short, I received a call from a lawyer that was on Wednesday regarding this issue. He told me that he would like to have a meeting with me and he promised me that I shouldn't get scared that nothing was going to happen to me.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I went there with a clear mind.I got there and she wasn't their yet.I meet with the lawyer and we but sitted and waiting for her she came with another friend and we all sat down. We both narrates our stories and the lawyer figured out money was the problem between us and I was ready to pay her the money she requested fr and she also agreed to collect the money, all of a sudden the frnd she came with just shouted "are u stupid you want to collect money so that he will go back on social media telling the whole world that u collected money from him shey?" that was how she changed her mind on collecting the money and started shouting she wants juctice raising her voice. When the lawyer notice it wasn't going well, he told us to leave and come back on Monday by then maybe her mind would have settled. As I was leaving she was shouting and making calls. I tried to get a cab but she won't allow me shouting thief thief on the street, I tried to walk faster she won't let me be. I started jugging so I saw one unkept place, cars are parked there. I tot it was a mechanic workshop not knowing it an EFCC surrounding .I crossed over the fence then all of a sudden I was surrounded by police officers I told them that I'm not a thief and I explained what happened to them. They took me to the police station then stella came to met me there, they took us before the DPO and she narrated her story to them and I also did. None of them believed me with the scars on her neck, I wrote my statement and she also did......</span></div>

He came like a gentle man and started advising me to just admit that I raped her and he will beg her to let it go. I turned and look into his eyes and I told him boldly, I did not do it and I won't lie against myself. He threatened to slap me people there held him and that was how he took me to the cell. I slept in the cell, the next day I was called out out that stella was already around. It was on a Friday she said she wants the case to be taken to the court, I was given my phone to call anyone. Immediately I called home, they contacted a lawyer and they gave me his number. We spoke at length with the lawyer, Later stella's friend walked up to me that have I paid the lawyer and I said no. she requested that I should tell them at home not to pay the lawyer, instead I should give stella the money because its seems stella prefers the money. I happily called home and I told them the update. Then they said okay, but stella insisted that before she does anything she has to wait for her conel friend to be a witness. I was taken back to the cell while she waited for her friend to come. After two hours I was brought out of the cell I tot everything was ova..I never knew the game just got started, I was given my properties at the police station, I tot everything had been solved and I was going home. I just overheard her talking on the fone that she doesn't want the money but justice. Tears just rolled out of my eyes.I was transfered to utako police station, I later found out that was the police station that was supposed to handle the case...we got there a female inspector was the one handling the case, I was surrounded by female police I was the only man among them. She explained and I did not leaving anything covered. I told them we had sex 3 times that night with protection, after so much investigation they noticed she was not saying the truth. They told her this not a rape case and that it was an assault. She started shouting Nigeria police and injustice, they later called three other police professional to listen to our stories. And they all conclude with the same answer</span></div>

She was confused regretting that she would have collected the money earlier, she kept calling all the people that have been pushing her. I spent the whole weekend at the police station. I got bailed out on Sunday evening and I was told to come back on Monday so we can go to court. I was at the police station on Monday by 8am, she was no where to be found... I was there till 1pm stella did not show up, so I left for work only to find out that I've bn sacked because of all those. I kept crying I have 4000 request on my Instagram.. People waiting for me to accept so they will rain curse on me. So later the reschedule at the police was that I should show up at the police station at 10am on Tuesday I was already there by 9am I waited for stella until .12.58pm before she later showed up that she was no longer interested in the case, that she wants to withdraw the case, reasons best know to her. I cried out my life.I went back to my apartment, the lawyer incharge of my house called me on phone that he has heard what happened and I was given from Tuesday till Saturday to packout of the house.I should look for another place to stay. I DID NOT RAPE HER, I AM NOT A RAPIST! Well, like I said earlier I'm not writing this to prove innocent, I'm sharing this story to world, for men like me out there because I just learnt the hard way. I've lost everything, my childhood, my youth and even my future.I wonder if I can become anything in life with all these. Buh I have learnt to forgive my self and retrace my steps. For those that I owe by God's grace I will paybck just send me a reminder, I'm so sorry. For the girls that I have treated badly while dating, please find a place in your heart to forgive me, little did I know that the world is a small place.</span></div>

Kehinde, Commissioner for Agriculture in Kogi State, before this very
appointment, I was the Commissioner for Budget and Planning in the state, I was
equally at a time Special Adviser on Budget Monitoring all under this current
administration of Governor Yahaya Bello. I am an indigene of Kabba/Bunu Local
Government Area, before I went into politics; I was a banker for thirteen years
with UBA. I started working with UBA in 2001 and left 2013. As a matter of
fact, during my time in the banking sector, I was able to manage three (3) UBA
branches in Lokoja here. I am a graduate of Industrial Chemistry from
University of Ilorin, I also have a degree in Law, Masters’ in Business
Administration and finally I am married with kids.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

sector, how have you been able to fit into the political landscape of Kogi?<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 115%;">I must say it is quite
not easy, because the way things are being done in the private sector is quite
different from the public sector. For example, in the private sector where I
came from, when instruction are issued out, it is carried out with immediate
effect without any delay bearing in mind the repercussion of not carrying out
the instruction. It is however a different ball game entirely in the public
sector, it is observed that people in the public sector just want to come to
work and collect salary, in situation when some of this workers come to work,
they cluster to gossip on unnecessary issues.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 115%;">When I first joined the
public sector, as the SA Project Management, I discovered people coming to work
at their own convenient, this actually baffled me because for a banker who is
coming from a sector where I have to resume nothing less than 7:30 in the
morning from Monday to Friday and a minute late from 7:30 will warrant a fees
of #5,000. In such environment, you will agree with me that you will not need
anybody to monitor the punctuality of the staff as everyone would be conscious
of coming very early to avoid being fined. So that self-discipline is there in
the private sector.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 115%;">As a way of improving
what I met, I had to make it mandatory for my workers to resume work before 8
o’clock in the morning which before long they adapted to it, we started
experiencing most of them gradually becoming punctual and effectively carrying
out their duties. Same situation when I was posted to Budget and Planning as a
Commissioner then, workers were not taking the work very serious since it was a
government work, we were also able to change such mentality before I left
there, even now as I am talking to you, if you go to budget and planning now
you will still see that they are maintaining same standard we taught them. Coming
to the Agricultural sector where I am currently the Commissioner, we have also
tried to institutionalize discipline, you can see to the glory of God to a very
large extent, the workers here have also keyed in. I try as much as possible to
inject work ethics and discipline anywhere I go. As a way of doing what I
preach, I equally resume here 8 o’clock in the morning and ensure I go round to
monitor the attendance register. You will also want to agree with me that the
ministry now looks better and healthier than what it used to be before. Unlike
before, you will find those hawking and selling food inside the ministry as if
it was a market ground, then most of the spoilt tractors were packed inside the
ministry as if it was a mechanic workshop. All this has been taken care of and
as you can see, the place is looking more or less like a ministry. Hence, we
are using private sector mindset to reform the public sector.   <o:p></o:p></span></div>

so far from budget and planning to Budget monitoring and then the Agric sector,
how have you been able to effectively play them politics? <o:p></o:p></span></i></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 115%;">Firstly, I had to
separate politics from governance, that is, when it is time to play politics I
go back to my LG which I do go to every weekend to meet with my people and
further sensitize them on what the current administration is doing and make them
see reasons why they should support the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello. But
when it comes to work itself, I don’t really care what other commissioner are
doing, because I have been given an assignment to carryout and I have to succeed.

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 115%;">For example, the budget
we did in 2017 for the state is a radical departure from what it used to be in
the past. For the first time we did a budget that we know will move Kogi from
what it used to be and where we want it to be, a budget that is as realistic as
possible, a budget that emphasized on capital expedition, we did a budget that
we know will bring development across the 239 wards we have in the state and we
used the same hands that has always been there to achieve this. Hitherto, it
was copy and paste from the previous budget we have been seeing. As a matter of
fact, our 2017 budget was ranked among the best eight in the country in terms
of content and packaging. It was a budget that was well discussed on social
media, we chose not to hide anything right from the first day we started
preparing the budget, and this was done to get the contribution of the people
since the budget was meant to serve them. 
Even before the coming of his Excellency, he had already sent a team to
go round the 21 LG to find out the needs of our people which are contained in
the blue print agenda which now formed what we translated into the budgets.
Hence, it is what we called the peoples budget. Governance is different from politics,
when you combine the two you will get it all mixed up. I must point out that
this government led by His Excellence is doing all that is required to ensure
the welfare and safety of the people in the state. Our resources are being
prudently managed and being accounted for. This is being made possible by the
regular account being made by the Ministry of Finance and the constant post on
the social media to further carry people along. We on our part are doing our
best to turn the tides around, we have water everywhere in Kogi State, we also
have good soil in the state, we also have able bodies and the location we find
ourselves is an advantage, because we are the heart of the nation, connecting
the North, South, West and the East. It is now important we harness our
resources and also engage in farming so that we can become the food basket of
the nation. That is, all those hitherto abandoned project are going to be
brought back to life. For instance in Momi, Yagba West LG, we have one of the
biggest dams over there, which has been lying down fallow for long. As we speak
now if you go to Owinme, we are cultivating over 80 thousand hectare of rice,
we are building rice in 50thons per day in Owinme. When next we are going, we
are going to call the members of the press to see and report what we are doing,
so as not to look as if we are just making empty noise. The Federal Government
approved the cultivation of 10,000 hectare of cashew which work will soon
commence on that. Another Federal Government initiative is also coming in
regards to value process in cashew, cassava and rice, Kogi has been selected as
one of the six states to benefit from the initiative. As we speak now all the
equipment and resources will be brought from Abuja. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 115%;">Any moment from now, we
shall be empowering youth, women who are interested in agriculture, by the time
we have been able to effectively carry out this, we would have been able to
increase our IGR, reduce unemployment and put food the tables of many. As we
speak, work is in progress in Olamaboro, Dekina, and Adavi, am mentioning all
these places so that you can equally make your enquiry and confirm all what I
have been saying. With the way we are going and with the support of His Excellency,
am more than convinced that our laid down project and desire for the state
would be meant. Of course you should know that agriculture is one sector you need
to have patience to see result, because you don’t plant today and begin to
harvest the next minute, it takes time. But am assuring you by the special
grace of God that in the next one year, we would be able to stand tall and tell
Kogites that we have been able to add value through Agriculture in the state.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

place in the hands of the farmers settling along that road would be a
disservice to our ministry, as a matter of fact, before work was commenced on
that road, we met with all the farmers settling along that road, they were part
of the entire process and we even planted the melon together. One thing you
cannot take away from weed is that, no matter how you spray it or clear it, with
time it will still grow, especially in raining season. As we speak now, we have
concluded arrangement to go and spray the melon farm with selective herbicide
that will kill off the weeds and spare the melon to grow. Let me also make this
known, the reason for planting melon was not basically for commercial purpose,
the reason was just to keep the place clean so as to stop bush from returning
back to the road and to enable us see far and wide for security purpose. We are
assuring you that it is not an abandoned project; it is not something we must
be doing everyday, we must allow the weed to grow to some certain extent before
we take action, because it cost a fortune to keep the place clean and cleared.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

seriously, the project taking place in Momi is a PPP arrangement, our people
are in Osara now  working on the site for
our agric house, we have an Ethanol company now in Jamata which will be operating
and process all our cassava, this is also a private sector driving agency. We
have Christago who are also starch and ethanol factory, these are some of the
end results of our synergy with PPP. We shall be launching Getrova very soon,
which is also a PPP arrangement. Like I said earlier, agricultural programmes
are not something you will start today and begin to see immediate result, it
takes a little time before you will begin to see and appreciate the works done.
When I was in Budget and Planning, the blue print agenda pertaining to what
private investors must contribute are, private sectors in the state will
provide 30% funding for project in the state, multilateral company will provide
30% funding also and money from the IGR will be 40%. So, the case of private
investors in the state is so important that we cannot but collaborate with
them. In no distant time, the result of all this will be out for everybody to
see.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 115%;">FADAMA is a Federal
Government initiative, to empower its citizens. FADAMA is working on two
products in Kogi, cassava and rice. FADAMA has been able to empower 7,000 Kogites
by supporting them to cultivate their farms with mechanized farming tools,
since we are no longer talking about subsistence agriculture and also the usage
of our traditional tools such as hoes and cutlasses. FADAMA story in Kogi has
been successful because when you have a scheme that has been able to empower
over 7,000 people, then such a scheme is no longer a child’s play. To also
complement what FADAMA is doing, His Excellency also graciously approved
procurement of other farm tools that will be made available to farmers in the
state for better and easier agricultural farming. This will also attract youth
and give them the notion that it pays more to be a farmer than to be a civil
servant that will work from morning till night and get stipends, and by the time
you divide what you earn by 12months, you will realize that your earning is
actually nothing. But for a farmer, if you properly cultivate and plant on a
hectare of land and apply all the principles of farming, you can get over a
million naira which you can get within six months or less. For instance, if you
go into fish pond, within the space of six month you would be able to make over
a million naira. In the real sense, it pays to be a farmer than to be a civil
servant and even being a banker. I put it to you that, mechanized farming is
the real MMM.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Then a decision was made that I was becoming too popular in Jos prison and I had to be transferred to Yola prison which is a native authority prison and I don’t need to tell you what life was there. In Jos prison, before I was transferred to Yola prison, they had decided that Shehu Yar’Adua and myself should be poisoned. So, they took him from Port Harcourt prison to Abakaliki. In the process, he was injected with the virus that killed him.</span><br />

I was slightly diabetic. But God had taken care of it because I was checking my blood sugar almost on a daily basis and it had become better than normal. So, I refused him (the man) touching me with anything. So, they took me to Yola and he said, ‘when you get to where you are going, we will come again.’”</span><br />

He listened to my case that I needed special food because I was diabetic. He said the specialist would come to see me. The specialist turned out to be somebody from Okeogun in Oyo State. Two, he was a Baptist, and three, he had heard about me and knew me. So, he looked at me and said, ‘Don’t let anybody touch you with anything.</span><br />

He now asked the man, ‘When would we have the result? ’The man said, ‘Within 24 hours of my getting to Abuja.’I haven’t heard the result until today.”</span><br />

What is the lesson for me? I developed in prison but unfortunately, I was not able to sustain it. Maybe because there was nothing else to do in prison except to pray and fast. I used to fast a lot. On three occasions, I fasted for seven days, no water, no food… a unique power was given to me by God. In all these, God did not leave me alone, and I know that. <span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Mr. Ibrahim Magu was appointed as Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in November 2015 by President Muhammadu Buhari. The appointment was made by the President sequel to section 171 (1) of the Constitution. After Mr. Magu had acted in that capacity for over a year the Senate refused to confirm his appointment as the substantive Chairman of the EFCC. However, as President Buhari was satisfied with the performance of Mr. Magu he decided to retain him as the Acting Chairman of the EFCC. A couple of days ago, the Senate revisited the matter. In a rather bizarre move, the Senate decided to combine legislative powers with executive functions by passing a resolution which purportedly directed the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, to remove Mr. Magu from the post of the Acting Chairman of the EFCC forthwith. The resolution of the Senate was alleged to have been anchored on section 2(3) of the EFCC Act which provides as follows: “The Chairman and members of the Commission other than ex-officio members shall be appointed by the President and the appointment shall be subject to confirmation of the Senate.” Before passing its resolution the Senate ought to have known from the clear and unambiguous provision of section 2 (3) of the EFCC Act that it has not been vested with the power to confirm or approve any person appointed by the President to hold office in an acting capacity. To that extent, the resolution of the Senate constitutes an affront to section 171 (1) of the Constitution which stipulates that: “Power to appoint persons to hold or act in the offices to which this section applies to remove persons so appointed from any such office shall vest in the President.” The offices involved are those Head of Service, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Permanent Secretaries and Heads of extra ministerial departments of the Government. It is further submitted that Section 2 (3) of the EFCC Act relied upon Senate to justify the confirmation of the Chairman of the EFCC is inconsistent with section 171 (2) of the Constitution. Indeed, of all the positions listed in subsection 2 of the Constitution it is only in the appointments of ambassadors and high commissioners made by the President which require the confirmation of the Senate. See section 171(4) thereof. Since the EFCC is an extra ministerial department of the Federal Government the appointment of its Chairman does not require the confirmation of the Senate. In other words, section 2 (3) of the EFCC Act is inconsistent with section 171 (2) of the Constitution. To that extent, the resolution of the Senate based on the EFCC Act is an exercise in futility. Although neither the Presidency nor the Senate has deemed to seek interpretation of the relevant provisions of the Constitution from the Supreme Court the power of the President of the Republic to make certain appointments without the confirmation of the Senate had been challenged. In Festus Keyamo v The President & 4 Ors. (See www.premiumtimesng.com) the plaintiff challenged the appointment of service chiefs without the confirmation of the Senate. The trial court set aside the appointments as the power of the President to appoint service chiefs under section 218(2) of the Constitution is on the ground that the appointments were qualified by section 218(4)(b) thereof which provides that the National Assembly shall have power to make laws for the regulation of "the appointment, promotion and disciplinary control of the members of the armed forces of the Federation." As the Constitution has made the appointments of service chiefs subject to laws enacted by the National Assembly the court was on a terra firma when it ruled that the appointments so made required confirmation in line with the section 18 of the Armed Forces Act. But in the case of Ebun Adegboruwa v Attorney-general of the Federation (Unreported) Suit No:FHC/L/CS/1405/2012 the plaintiff had challenged the appointment of Colonel Hameed Ali (retd) as the Comptroller-General of Customs on the ground it was not made by President Buhari in consonance with a Federal Government Gazette of 1985. The Gazette in question had provided that a new Comptroller-General of Customs must be appointed from the pool of Deputy Comptrollers-General of Customs. In dismissing the action the Federal High Court (per Hassan J.) held that by the combined effect of sections 5 and 171 of the Constitution the provisions of the Gazette could not restrict or limit the powers of the President to appoint the Comptroller-General of Customs from outside the public service. In the same vein, it is crystal clear that section 2 (3) of the EFCC Act cannot subject the appointment of the chairman of the EFCC to Senate confirmation contrary to the provisions of section 171 of the Constitution. In view of the foregoing, the implementation of the resolution of the Senate on the removal of Mr. Ibrahim Magu as the Acting Chairman of the EFCC should be ignored by the Presidency on account of its apparent illegality. However, the distinguished Senators who are desperate to institutionalize official corruption and impunity in the country by removing Mr. Magu from office may have to wait for the planned installation of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki as the Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria!</span></blockquote>

I am the first in my family, so the money really helped to stabilise a few things.”</strong></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I grew up listening to <strong>Michael Jackson</strong>,<strong> Fela</strong>,<strong> </strong><strong>Oliver de Coque</strong>,<strong> Osita Osadebe</strong>,<strong> King Sunny Ade</strong> and so many others, and when I look at how music was created and marketed then, I see that these men, beyond being such amazing creatives, put a lot of effort into creating unique identities that created a certain mystique about them; helping to drive increased followership.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Today what it requires to break an artiste into the market and possibly achieve limelight is huge, and as modern realities have come to show us: money rules the day. This of course means that there is a growing need for any serious player in the music industry to look for innovative ways to sell their art. My own experience has shown that money alone cannot suffice; rather what is required is a mix of talent, hard work, considerable resources and most importantly the ability to think and execute radical strategies to retain a hold in the market. It is on this principle that I have built <strong>G-Worldwide</strong>, and it is on this that we as an entertainment company stand.</span></div>
