successful relationship is made up of two individuals. Your partner

them or not. Having your own lives outside the relationship not only

 Netng, in Mauritius where he attended the 2015 MultiChoice Africa 
content Showcase, speaking about his love life which he has tried to 
keep away from the media, revealed that his girlfriend’s name is Onome

When asked if any marriage plans were on the way, the music producer stated that he has no idea of such for now.<br />

Popular Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze better known as Aki, has 
attributed his acting prowess to the freedom he was able to get from his
 grandmother while growing with her in Abia state.<br />
The actor known
 for his child-friendly movies stated that it was the way he was given 
the opportunity to have fun that paved way for him to know how children

A public appeal by Celine Dion for new songs for her next album in 
French has been met with a flood of offered tunes, according to a former
 Canadian media boss close to the singer’s manager.<br />

Around 4,000 songs were sent to Dion’s website and management company
 by the October 5 deadline, Charles Benoit, ex-head of the Quebec TV arm
 of Canadian group Bell Media, told AFP this week.<br />

Dion’s husband and manager, Rene Angelil, and the CEO of the Les 
Feeling Productions firm managing her career, Aldo Giampaolo, “were 
surprised by the dimensions this initiative has taken, and they asked me
 to organise the works’ selection”, he said.<br />

Dion in late August made her appeal for fresh songs, emphasising that it was “open to everyone”. <br />

The 47-year-old Canadian singer, most famous for performing “My Heart
 Will Go On” as the theme song for the hit 1997 movie “Titanic”, said 
she wanted new material for an album in French she’s bringing out next 
year, and for another one in English in 2017.<br />

The current crop of submitted songs are all for the French album and 
came by letter, social networks and MP3 files from France and other 
French-speaking countries.<br />

They will be whittled down to just 25 songs by a panel of six 
French-language broadcast critics, said Pierre Fortier, a Quebec music 
festival director whom Benoit tapped to be in charge of the selection 
process.<br />

“Naturally, out of the 4,000 songs received, there aren’t 4,000 hits, but we’ve already found several good ones,” Fortier said.<br />

An online vote open to the public through Dion’s www.celinedion.com 
website will choose which one of the shortlisted 25 songs will make it 
on the singer’s album, with the winner announced December 1. <br />

A 56-year-old French amateur singer-composer, Gilles Mazetto, said he
 hoped his submission, “Cicatrice Dedicacee” (roughly meaning 
‘autographed scar’), would make the cut.<br />

“It’s a message in a bottle I’m hoping will be picked up by Celine Dion,” he said.<br />

“I think the song fits her repertoire: it talks about passing time, 
the moments that define our existence, of those that remain.”<br />

Dion’s last album came out in 2013. In August, she resumed regular 
concerts she has been giving in Las Vegas since 2011 after taking a 
year-long hiatus to care for Angelil, 73, who has throat cancer.<br />

<strong>• Dogara receives 2015 elections EU observer report</strong><br />
IN a bid to strengthen democracy and good governance in the polity, the 
National Assembly would soon resubmit portions of the fourth 
constitution amendment Bill to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent.<br />

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, made this
 known yesterday when he received report of the 2015 elections European 
Union Observer Mission in Nigeria from the Chief Observer, Mr. Santiago 
Fisas, in his office.<br />

Buhari’s predecessor, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan had withheld assent to 
the fourth constitution amendment bill on the basis that key provisions 
in the amendments did not meet the requirements of Section 9(3) of the 
1999 Constitution.<br />

Jonathan had in a correspondence to both chambers of the immediate 
past Seventh National Assembly argued that he was particularly bothered 
by some aspects of the amendment, which sought to reduce some of the 
executive powers exercised by the President of the Federal Republic of 
Nigeria.<br />

The former president itemised 12 key areas of concern in the proposed amendments which the executive was not comfortable with.<br />

They include the non-compliance with the threshold specified in 
Section 9 (3) of the 1999 Constitution on amendments; the clause that 
alteration to the constitution cannot be valid with mere voice votes 
unless supported by the votes of not less than four-fifths majority of 
all members of National Assembly and two-thirds of all the 36 State 
Houses of Assembly, the right to free basic education and primary and 
maternal care services imposed on private institutions; and flagrant 
violation of the doctrine of separation of powers.<br />

Others identified by the executive were the whittling down of the 
executive powers vested in the President by virtue of Section 5(1) of 
the 1999 Constitution and the 30 days allowed for presidential assent to
 bills.<br />

But Speaker Dogara said there would be no need to go back and start a
 new legislative work on the fourth alteration of the constitution, 
adding it would still be re-transmitted to Buhari for assent.<br />

Dogara maintained that the bill was still very much alive in the 
National Assembly as both chambers have provided savings for such 
legislation after amending their standing rules and that they will not 
commence afresh.<br />

Said he: “I wish to inform you that some of the recommendations by 
the mission such as independent candidature has received the support of 
the National Assembly.”<br />

Dogara, who briefed the EU delegation on the salient issues addressed
 in the amendment exercise, disclosed that the National Assembly made 
provisions for independent candidates in the bill which was also 
supported by overwhelming vote of two-thirds majority of the State 
Houses of Assembly in Nigeria.<br />

He, however, expressed regrets that such provision did not see the 
light of the day due to the non-signing of the bill by the former 
president.<br />

He assured that the National Assembly would leave no stone unturned 
in revisiting that amendment since it will surely increases the 
democratic space and more citizen participation in the electoral process
 adding: “Nigeria is committed to the growing of a robust democracy that
 not only meets domestic aspirations but indeed that which stands the 
test of international best practice in a world that has been reduced 
into a global village.”<br />

He thereby commended the EU for supporting the growth of democracy in
 Nigeria especially through the committed participation of its 
Observation Mission in Nigeria’s 2015 General Elections.<br />

Fisas, who was accompanied by the EU ambassador to Nigeria, said the 
report contains 30 recommendations aimed at helping Nigeria to make 
amends in subsequent elections.<br />

Saying the EU was not trying to impose anything on Nigeria but that 
the recommendations are in line with both Nigerian and international 
law, he stated that among the recommendations is that the process of 
appointing the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission
 (INEC) should be independent.<br />

He also said the recommendations called for reviewing of voting 
procedure which separates time of voting and that of accreditation 
adding that between one to two million voters were disenfranchised in 
the 2015 elections due to the fact that they could not wait to vote 
after accreditation.<br />

Nigerian general jailed over Boko Haram attack on Baga

A military court in Nigeria has 
sentenced a general to six months in jail for his involvement in one of 
the army's worst defeats by Boko Haram.</div>
Gen Enitan Ransome-Kuti 
was convicted of failing in his duties when Islamist militants attacked 
the north-eastern town of Baga in January.<br />
Scores of civilians were killed when Boko Haram overran the town and seized large quantities of weapons.<br />
The general's lawyer told the BBC that he will appeal against the decision.<br />
A separate accusation of cowardice was dropped.<br />
The general comes from a celebrated Nigerian family. His uncle was the late Afrobreat legend Fela Kuti.<br />
The
 exact number of those killed in the Baga attack remains unknown, but 
claims vary from the government's official figure of 150 to up to 2,000 
reported by locals. <br />

Gen Ransome-Kuti was also dismissed from the Nigerian armed forces as part of the court martial. <br />

 was found guilty for "loss of equipment" in the attack on the 
headquarters of Nigeria's regional task force against Boko Haram. <br />

 Haram outnumbered his men. They had more superior weapons than the

The 
military court in the capital Abuja said Brigadier Gen Ransome-Kuti was 
right to have asked his troops to retreat in the face of overwhelming 
firepower, but he should have called for reinforcements and launched a 
counter-attack to reclaim the town. <br />
Hundreds of people were 
massacred by Boko Haram in Baga in January 2015 when Gen Ransome-Kuti 
and his men ran away from the town. <br />
This was one of the biggest 
defeats suffered by the Nigerian army at the hands of Boko Haram, given 
the number of people killed and the high-calibre weapons gained by the 
insurgents.<br />
The militants also detained many women in Baga whom they used as sex slaves.<br />
The
 army's reputation has been affected by a series of mutinies by troops 
who on several occasions abandoned their weapons and fled the 
insurgents.<br />
Today's sentence is intended to help restore discipline, which many think has been lacking within the ranks of the troops.<br />
Some
 of the troops complained they were not being given the equipment needed
 to fight Boko Haram but more weapons have now been supplied.<br />

The minor girls, aged two-and-half years and the other five, were raped 
in separate attacks in New Delhi yesterday,October 17, police said.
According to Hindustan Times, the 5-year-old was allegedly assaulted by 
two men known to her family. The men, who were drunk at the time, were 
nabbed by people and handed over to police. No arrests have been made in
 connection with the other rape.<br />

The two-and-half-year-old girl was allegedly abducted from near a 
‘Ramlila’ event outside her home at Ranhola in West Delhi by two men on a
 motorcycle.<br />

 injuries.
The girl had stepped out of her home with her grandmother after a power 
cut late on Friday night, police said. She was playing while her 
grandmother sat nearby. The girl reportedly ran towards the main road 
and witnesses told police two men on a motorcycle had taken her away at 
about 11 pm. When the grandmother couldn’t locate the girl, she raised 
an alarm.<br />
<br />
"The girl’s relatives came to the police station to get a complaint 
registered, following which we dispatched search teams. The girl was 
found two hours later behind the bushes in a jungle nearby. She was 
found to be bleeding," a police official said.<br />
<br />
The five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two men known to her 
family in Anand Vihar area of East Delhi. The men, reportedly inebriated
 at the time, dumped her near her home after the assault.
     "She returned home crying and narrated the episode to her parents, 
after which the locals hunted the accused down.<br />
<br />
They were reportedly beaten up by the public and then handed over to 
police. "Both of them were drunk. We have arrested them and registered a
 case against them," a police official said.
Officials at the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital said the injuries on the girl’s 
body and private parts suggested she was brutally assaulted. A medical 
examination confirmed the rape.
     The nature of injuries on the private parts suggests she was 
subjected to torture. Since it happened in a jungle, she even had thorns
 in her body," a source said.
     "We have launched a manhunt for the suspects. So far no one has 
been arrested," Pushpenda Kumar, West Delhi police chief, told AFP of 
the toddler's case.
An officer from Anand Vihar police station comfirmed the arrest of the 
three men who raped the five-year-old.<br />

"Her clothes wee partially torn with blood spots all over them. Some 
locals saw her and she told them she was sexually assaulted," the 
officer said.
     "Some of the locals then barged into the house and caught them 
before handing them over to us" the officer added.

Two residents, Bashirat Rauf, a mother of two and Sodiq Saka of Araromi 
Quarters in Ketu, Lagos State, were both electrocuted when fire engulfed
 a school nearby.<br />

Bashirat Rauf was said to have rushed out of her apartment when she saw 
fire burning from a cable in a nearby school.  She reportedly decided to
 quickly pick her children who were playing outside in order to avoid 
being engulfed by the fire unfortunately, she got electrocuted in the 
process.<br />

 year old plank seller,Sodiq Saka, was said to have gone to fetch water

“As a Muslim, I have accepted my fate.  There is nothing I could do to 
bring the dead back to life.  “We were to gather on that fateful day.   
He was the one who slaughtered the Sallah ram he bought for me.</blockquote>

After that, he told me he was coming to get something down the street, 
only for someone to come and call me that my son had been electrocuted 
in the neighbourhood.</blockquote>

I was told by some witnesses at the scene of the incident that my son 
only went into the compound of the school premises where it was burning 
to assist the owner of the house, only for him to be electrocuted by the
 falling cable. Sodiq was said to had stepped on the naked cable while 
trying to put off the fire. What else do I do, I cannot give birth to a 
grown up boy like him.”</blockquote>
The Secretary of Araromi Community Development Association, Mr.Wahab 
Awoyemi , described the incident as a very sad one for the residents of 
Araromi community.<br />

“It was very sad for us to loose two persons in a day.The woman was in 
her apartment that fateful day preparing meal, when information got to 
her that the school near their apartment was burning. She rushed out to

"This is going to be part of our Boko Haram efforts that will be 
operating throughout the region," one of the sources said on condition

It will not include boots on the ground or offensive combat, but will
 see US military operations against Boko Haram in Nigeria for the first

"It's surveillance and intelligence gathering, not anything offensive," said the same source.<br />

US President Barack Obama, on Wednesday, announced 90 US personnel 
had already been sent to Cameroon and may eventually number up to 300.<br />
<br />
The White House has been at pains to stress that personnel would not 
take part in combat operations and would be armed only for self-defense.<br />
<br />
Nigeria greeted that announcement as a 'welcome development.'<br />
<br />
President Muhammadu Buhari took office in May vowing to end the 
violence that has killed scores and spooked much-needed international 
investors.<br />
<br />
But US efforts to give him military assistance have been hampered by 
concerns about human rights abuses carried out by the country's 
military.<br />
<br />
The US moves come as Boko Haram steadily expands operations beyond 
its traditional base in northern Nigeria, conducting attacks in Cameroon

 former governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi has pleaded with 
the Senate not to stop his screening as a minister-nominee.<br />

<br />

In three separate letters written by his solicitor, Edward E. Pepple 
to the Senate president, Senator Bukola Saraki and Senate Committee on 
Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions Amaechi gave reasons why the 
Senate should not stop his screening as a minister-nominee declaring 
that the allegations against him were not only false and made mala fide 
but were also subjudice.<br />

<br />

While insisting that the allegations were with the intent to “solely 
irritate, embarrass and tarnish his hard-earned reputation” Amaechi 
reminded the Senate that he should be presumed innocent until the 
contrary is proved.<br />

<br />

While telling the Senate that since there were pending cases at the 
Federal High Court, Abuja and the Court of Appeal on the matter he told 
the Senate that any action on the allegations by the Senate would be 
subjudice just as he asked the Senate to preserve its Standing Order 
which bars it from dabbling in any matter pending before a court.<br />

<br />

Amaechi, in the letters, asked the Senate to “discard” the petition 
against him by the Integrity Group and the report of the Justice G. G. 
Omereji’s Judicial Commission of Inquiry.<br />

<br />

“Just as the general principle of law is that commentaries and other 
forms or outside-the-courtroom discussions should not be encouraged or 
engaged in relation to the subject matter of any judicial litigation, so
 as not to prejudice and prejudge a matter before a court, we have also 
realised that this Distinguished Senate has not only adopted this 
principle of law, but has also made it a written code in its Rules and 
Standing Orders, which is the compass for the proceedings of the Senate.<br />

<br />

“The Senate by so doing has debarred Distinguished Senators from 
considering matters which are rightly or wrongly subjudice for the sake 
of ensuring the much desired separation of powers and preventing 
possible loop holes that may exist or be created in an attempt at 
short-circuiting the process of justice and circumventing the stringent 
application of the laws of our land.<br />

<br />

“Mr. President, needless to emphasise that it is one of the cardinal 
pillars of fair hearing that an accused person is presumed innocent 
until the contrary is proved. Again, this position is strengthened and 
reinforced by section 36 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of 
Nigeria, 1999 (as Amended) (hereafter simply referred as the 
Constitution).<br />

<br />

“As our client has indicated, the allegations are not only false, 
they are also made mala fide with the intent to solely irritate, 
embarrass and tarnish the hard-earned reputation of our client and 
maliciously represent him as a person not fit and proper to occupy 
public office.<br />

<br />

“Sir, this intention is borne out clearly from the conduct and 
restless activities of the petitioner, who has expressly stated in his 
petition to the Senate that he had written same petition to the Economic
 and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt 
Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), the two foremost
 institutions in the country vested with the authority to prosecute 
financial and corrupt practices related offences. Except to speculate 
that the petitioner has no confidence in both the EFCC and ICPC, one 
would have thought that the petitioner should have awaited the outcome 
of the investigation of his allegations by these institutions. He did 
not do so because he has one goal, one mission: to malign and discredit 
the person of our client before the Nigerian people.<br />

“Mr. President, we wish to resist the temptation of delving into the 
subject matter so as not to fall foul of the law and prejudice the case 
before the court.<br />

“ In the circumstances, we most respectfully urge the Senate to

Authorities of the Nigerian Army have raised the alarm that the sovereignity of the country is being threatened.<br />

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, in 
message to  troops fighting Boko Haram in the North East, declared that 
“the next few days will be crucial to Operation Lafiya Dole. It is also 
crucial to our country Nigeria. Our sovereignty as a nation is

<strong>Blasts: Dozens dead as Maiduguri mosque targeted</strong><br />

And also on Friday, at least 39 people died after multiple explosions in Maiduguri, an emergency official said.<br />

Three female suicide bombers, thought to be aged between 11 and 15, 
struck on Friday morning, an official with the National Emergency 
Management Agency told BBC Hausa.<br />

The blasts followed bomb attacks on a mosque on Thursday which killed at least 32.<br />

No group has yet said it was behind the attack during Thursday’s evening prayers that also left many people injured.<br />

The Nigerian military on Thursday convicted a Brigadier General, 
Enitan Ransome-Kuti, blamed for the loss of Baga in Borno State to Boko 
Haram insurgents in January.<br />

Mr. Ransome-Kuti, son of Beko Ransome-Kuti, a foremost Nigerian 
pro-democracy activist who died on February 10, 2006, was arraigned 
before a military court, sitting in Mogadishu Barracks, Abuja, in May.<br />

He was accused of cowardly behaviour, loss of weapons to Boko Haram, 
and negligent performance of military duty under section 62b of the 
Armed Forces Act.<br />

In its judgment Thursday, the court dismissed the charge bordering on
 cowardly behaviour, following a no-case submission by the defendant.<br />

The court said the officer was right in withdrawing his troops in the face of superior firepower from Boko Haram terrorists.<br />

He was however sentenced to six-month imprisonment for loss of equipment to the extremist sect.<br />

He was also found guilty for negligently performing his duties and was therefore dismissed from service.<br />

Femi Falana, SAN, assisted by a retired Army Major, Femi Oyebanji, represented the convicted General during the trial.<br />

Mr. Falana told PREMIUM TIMES Friday morning that his team was still 
reviewing the judgment, which he described as contradictory.<br />

He promised to provide further details later.<br />

Mr. Ransome-Kuti, his Chief of Staff, Lieutenant Colonel G.A. Suru, 
and some other senior officers, were arrested for failing to repel Boko 
Haram attack on the headquarters of the Multinational Joint Task Force 
[MNJTF] in Baga in January.<br />

Also arrested at the time were the Commanding Officers of the 134 and
 174 Battalions — Lieutenant Colonel Haruna and Major Aliyu. The two 
battalions were under the MNJTF during the period.<br />

Mr. Ransome-Kuti was the commander of the multinational force during the attack.<br />

The commanders were detained shortly after they arrived Maiduguri, 
the Borno State capital, from Monguno, where they took refuge with 
troops after being dislodged from Baga.<br />

Military sources told PREMIUM TIMES at the time that authorities were
 especially angry with Mr. Ransome-Kuti for his inability to lead his 
troop to counter the onslaught in Baga, despite the high calibre weapons
 and ammunition available to his unit.<br />

After their arrests, the senior officers were held at the officers’ 
mess of the 21 Armoured Brigade, and were asked to account for the 
weapons lost to the insurgents.<br />

The Nigerian Army had in August said cases of convicted and dismissed
 soldiers and the ongoing trials of officers and men would be reviewed.<br />

But despite that announcement, the Special Court-Martial trying Mr. Ransome-Kuti at Abuja continued to sit.<br />

“Since the other courts-martial have been dissolved while the 
suspects have been directed to appear for a review of their charges 
filed against them it is discriminatory, inequitable and illegal to 
continue with the trial of Brigadier-General Ransome-Kuti, Mr. Falana

Gen. Gilbert Diendere had already been charged with 10 other counts, including attacking national security and murder.<br />

Babachir David Lawal talked about how he became an internally displaced 
person after Boko haram members attacked his village. He said<br />

 were completely taken over by insurgents. Two local governments in the 
central senatorial district, mine and the next one on its way to Yola 
were completely taken over by insurgents. My house was the headquarters 
of one of the Amir or whatever they call themselves. So, for six months,
 I was an internally displaced person.<br />

 others were on admission at the hospital in Mubi, the next big town to 
my own, where there’s some presence of general hospital. When Boko Haram
 entered Mubi, all the people had to evacuate the hospital and run into 
the mountains, no matter the degree of your sickness. My younger brother
 whose children were in that hospital, was visiting; he had to evacuate.
 For two weeks, we didn’t know where they were, because they ran into 
the mountains. The telephones, the base stations had been blown by Boko 
Haram. In any case, the battery had run out of the telephones. We didn’t
 know whether they were eating or whether they were dead. We didn’t know
 where they were. The total number of cattle in my village (where) 
everybody was a livestock keeper was 385. When people had to run for 
their lives, the last thing they would think about is cows, goats and 
chickens"he said</blockquote>

      "I actually thought that they weren’t alive when I saw them lying

workers rushed the infant to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was 
pronounced dead an hour later. Cops had to break down the apartment door
 to get inside and free Fearon’s children.
Witness Lizette Rodriguez, 48, heard Fearon screaming and throwing 
things out the window before Junilah was cast out.
      "She was screaming, ‘We’re all gonna die’ and ‘Hallelujah’ and 
‘Praise the Lord!’” Rodriguez said.
Hatch, 76, couldn’t believe the young mother was capable of committing 
such a horrific act.
      "She needs help ...I want her to get help,"Hatch told the Daily News. "Something’s got to be wrong. She wouldn’t do
 that."
Hatch had just returned from a church meeting when someone told her a 
baby was thrown from a window.
      "When I realized it was my building ...I knew — that’s my 
goddaughter," she said.
One of Fearon’s other three children — the oldest 10, the youngest 4 — 
were harmed and were all taken into the care of the Administration for 
Children’s Services after the incident.
Paramedics took Fearon to Bronx Lebanon Hospital for a medical 
evaluation.<br />

She was then expected to be transferred to Elmhurst Medical Center in 
Queens for a psych evaluation. Fearon was charged with murder late 
Thursday, cops said.
      "All I know is that Tenisha loved her kids...that’s all," said the
 suspect’s sister who refused to identify herself. Fearon was showing 
signs of instability in recent days, Hatch said. "She feels like the 
devil is in her. Yesterday I went to her home and that’s what she told 
me. She’s saying the same thing today. I told her, ‘You need help 
because you have other kids,’" Hatch told Daily News

Two men accused of beating a gay couple on a Philadelphia street last 
year must stay out of downtown under a plea agreement that spares them 
prison time.<br />
Philip Williams and Kevin Harrigan apologized as they pleaded guilty 
Thursday to aggravated assault and conspiracy charges. The 24-year-old 
Williams and 26-year-old Harrigan say the attack wasn't motivated by the
 couple's sexual orientation.<br />

A 51 year old man, Roman M. Sanchez was driving with a trailer in tow at
 about 6:45 a.m. Monday in Hidalgo County, just north of the Mexican 
border, when he was pulled over by a Texas Highway Patrol trooper for a 
routine traffic violation.<br />

However, when the trooper inspected the trailer which Sanchez allegedly 
was towing, he discovered 12 hidden bundles of cash, totaling 
$1,239,755.</div>

Sanchez couldn't satisfactorily explain where he got the money from and 
was subsequently arrested and charged with federal money laundering and 
taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service.</div>

 Igbo leaders under the aegis of Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos on 
Thursday expressed dismay over the inability of either the federal 
government or other socio-cultural or political groups in the country to
 factor Ndigbo in the agenda for the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) 
in the country in spite of being the only ethnic group with the highest 
number of victims as a result of the Boko Haram terrorism.<br />
 <br />
 Addressing a press conference in Enugu, leaders if the group, including
 its President-General, Chief Ebere Ubani and the Chairman, South-east 
IDPs, Ozo Patrick Mba, said it is unacceptable for the government to 
make arrangements on how to take care of IDPs without recourse to 
Ndigbo.<br />
 <br />
 They accused successive administrations in Nigeria of deliberate 
neglect and marginalisation of the South-east zone, insisting that the 
latest issue concerning the neglect of displaced people from the zone is
 part of the marginalisation agenda.<br />
 <br />
 The group claimed that Ndigbo had suffered unquantifiable loss in the 
hands of the terrorists operating in some parts of the country 
especially the North-east zone.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
 Ndigbo leaders noted that the media briefing was aimed at drawing the 
attention of the world to what they called "latest unimaginable and 
deliberate marginalisation of Ndigbo on the IDPs saga."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
 Ubani alleged that the Igbo nation was still under siege by an 
unforgiveable authorities in Nigeria, which he said had culminated in 
the total abandonment of the South-sast in all infrastructural and 
developmental facets in order to keep the zone in perpetual 
under-development and political slavery.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
 He however, lamented that whereas other IDPs were being catered for, 
the returnees had been left to roam helplessly in all the nooks and 
crannies of the South-east, where according to him, "the political will 
for whatever reasons has failed to take cognizance of these human 
tragedy."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
 The group, while calling for an urgent need to open IDPs camp in the 
South-east region, further stated that it had started collecting names 
and addresses of the returnees.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
 "It becomes imperative to appeal to the federal government, South-east 
states governors and political leaders to live up to their vows and 
provide succour for these millions of displaced Ndigbo.”</div>

Chief Olu Falae, who was kidnapped by Fulani herdsmen and released after
 paying N5m ransom four days after, has identified his abductors who 
were paraded before him by the police on Tuesday. He identified 4 of the
 kidnappers who were mean to him and 1 who was kind to him.<br />
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=4442204860816360768" name="more"></a>Five of Falae’s kidnappers were arraigned, yesterday,
 before an Akure High Court, Ondo and Chief Falae will be the star 
witness when the trial starts on November 10.<br />
The suspects, who were docked for kidnapping, conspiracy and armed 
robbery 24 days after abduction were Abubakar Auta, Bello Jannu, Umaru 
Ibrahim, Masahudu Muhammed and Idris Lawal all pleaded not guilty when 
the charges were read to them.<br />
<br />
Three of the kidnappers admitted that their share from the N5m ransom 
collected was N100,000 each. The accused persons could not speak English
 and were ordered to be remanded in prison custody by the high court 
judge, Justice Rotimi Olamide till November 10 when the case would be 
heard.<br />
