“For southern Kaduna, we didn’t understand what was going on and we decided to set up a committee under Gen. Martin Luther Agwai (rtd) to find out what was going on there. What was established was that the root of the problem has a history starting from the 2011 post election violence.</div>

“Fulani herdsmen from across Africa bring their cattle down towards Middle Belt and Southern Nigeria. The moment the rains starts around March, April, they start moving them up to go back to their various communities and countries.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 10px; padding: 0px;">
“Unfortunately, it was when they were moving up with their cattle across Southern Kaduna that the elections of 2011 took place and the crisis trapped some of them.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 10px; padding: 0px;">
“Some of them were from Niger, Cameroon, Chad, Mali and Senegal. Fulanis are in 14 African countries and they traverse this country with the cattle.“So many of these people were killed, cattle lost and they organised themselves and came back to revenge.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 10px; padding: 0px;">
“So a lot of what was happening in Southern Kaduna was actually from outside Nigeria. We got a hint that the late Governor Patrick Yakowa got this information and he sent someone to go round some of these Fulani communities, but of course after he died, the whole thing stopped. That is what we inherited. But the Agwai committee established that.</div>

“We took certain steps. We got a group of people that were going round trying to trace some of these people in Cameroon, Niger republic and so on to tell them that there is a new governor who is Fulani like them and has no problem paying compensations for lives lost and he is begging them to stop killing.“In most of the communities, once that appeal was made to them, they said they have forgiven</div>

“There are one or two that asked for monetary compensation. They said they have forgiven the death of human beings, but want compensation for cattle. We said no problem, and we paid some. As recently as two weeks ago, the team went to Niger republic to attend one Fulani gathering that they hold every year with a message from me.</div>

The Federal High Court in Abuja today under justice Justice Gabriel Kolawole has ordered the unconditional release of the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Malami Zeenat within 45 days. Delivering judgement in a case filed by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka Shiites against the Federal government, Justice Kolawole ordered the Federal government to pay the religious leader and his wife N50m as damages and also build a new accommodation for the family in any part of Kaduna State or the Northern region of their choice. 
 El-Zakzaky and his wife have been in DSS custody since December 2015 following a clash between his members and the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna state.

The 2016 edition of Empress Njamah's birthday celebration may have come and gone but the impact it left on the the lives of the Homeless, Downtrodden as well as less privileged in the society will forever remain green.  
 
The actress who over the years celebrates her birthday through her foundation, House of Empressnjamah Foundation with the motherless baby homes in 2016, had a three days celebration plan that started with the distribution of relief materials to about 2431 people at the Internally Displaced Persons Camp (IDP)in Abuja. 
 
Day 2 celebration: House of Empressnjamah Foundation visited the home of 'People living with Disabilities' in Abuja with fifty (50) wheel-Chairs and food items considering the period Nigeria as a country is into. While speaking on the behalf of the community, the Emir appreciated the giving nature of Empress Njamah to have included them in her celebration and however called on well meaning Nigerians emulate her kind gestures. 
 
Day 3 celebration was a Dinner Night at the popular Evelyn Event Centre, Gwarinpa, Abuja where friends, Families, well wishers and Abuja Body of Comedians gathered to celebrate with their own and were treated to a memorable moment of life.

Wole Soyinka, Nigerian Nobel prize-winning author, who promise to disengaged from the United States by destroying his Green card and leave the US if Donald Trump should win the US presidential elections, has proven that he is a man of his words. He has fulfilled his pledge. The 82-year-old playwright novelist told AFP on the sidelines of an education conference at the University of Johannesburg..
