Ekiti bank staff caught looting vault before robbery attack – Police

Asuquo Amba, commissioner of police in Ekiti who commented on the recent robbery attack in the state where a policeman and a girl were shot dead revealed that CCTV footage recovered showed one of the bank staff taking money from the vault few minutes before the attack.
The Police Commissioner told newsmen that there seems to be a connivance between the bank staff and the robbers who attacked the police station in the town first before heading to the bank where they carted away over N25 million.
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote">
“The IGP has directed that there must be a very thorough investigation and that this mode of operation must be brought to fore,” he said.
“What baffles me is that there was nexus between the robbers and insiders in the banking premises. The Oye Police Division is about one or two poles from here. It was the first point of attack. The bankers confirmed that they heard the shots and it took about 10 minutes before the robbers arrived at the bank from there.
“Within the period, there were some activities that went on inside the bank. It is either there was strict connivance, or that the bank officials took advantage to carry out their own intention which an investigation would prove.
“Between the time the robbers attacked our men and the time the robbery took place, the staff had enough time to escape through the exit door. They were captured by CCTV moving in and out of the vault. The vault was even opened before the robbers came.”

Amba further disclosed that N2 million hidden in a carton and stashed in the bank has been recovered. 
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote">
“Despite the opportunity, none of them made efforts to escape, they were stuffing money and there is evidence to prove this,” he said.
“The staff opened the vault by 3.05 p.m. and the robbers blew up the security door at 3.12 p.m., this gave a strong suspicion that there was internal collaboration in this matter.

Police rescued 3 trafficked children

Three children believed to be victims of child trafficking have been rescued by the Anambra State Police Command. 
The children were rescued at Nkpor in Idemili North Local Government Area by police officers who also arrested two women nabbed in the act. 
Anambra State’s Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the arrest of the women said the trafficked children were all males aged between one to five years. He added that the suspects will be charged to court after investigation has been concluded.

“Today at about 1:30 p.m., following intelligence report, detectives attached to Ogidi Division arrested two female suspects at Nkpor in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State.
“They were arrested with three kids, all males, whose ages range between one and five years respectively.
“Suspects were negotiating on how to sell the children alleged to have been stolen/trafficked from Enugu-Otu village in Anambra East LGA of Anambra State,” he said

Chioma lost it with some of her followers who had a thing or two to say, about how she’s raising her son with Davido, Ifeanyi.
Some moments ago, the new mom shared a video of herself bottle feeding her son while dancing to a new song on Davido’s latest album.
Reacting to this, some followers neglected her main point of sharing the video, and decided to dish words of advice to her, requesting that she quits bottle feeding her son, as it weakens the bond between mother and child.
This wouldn’t be the first time some of her followers would be advising her on how to take care of her son. Chioma however, told them point blank to leave her alone.

Danny Young And Tiwa Savage Finally Settle Copyright Lawsuit Out Of Court

Nigerian entertainers, Danny Young and Tiwa Savage have finally reached an out-of-court settlement over their copyright legal battle.
TheGuardian reports that Nigerian singers, Danny Young and Tiwa Savage have settled their legal battle out of court.
It was reported earlier that Danny Young filed a N200 million copyright suit against Savage for her 2018 song, ‘One’, which he claimed she copied from his 2009 single, “Oju Tiwon”.
In the suit, he sought a declaration that by copying, performing, and distributing literary work and music lyrics authored and owned by him without lawful authority, the defendants have infringed on his copyright.
He also sought an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendants, whether by themselves or their agents, from further copying, performing, recording, reproducing, or communicating to the public, his musical composition.
In the suit that was filed in February, Danny Young also joined Tiwa Savage’s former record label, Mavin Records, owned by Don Jazzy.
In an update to the story, Danny Young has revealed that they have settled out of court. He made this known today on his Instagram page.
In a statement signed by his lawyers, the singer commended Tiwa’s management “for committing in good faith, time and efforts towards finding an amicable resolution to the dispute.”
The statement reads in part:-

“Mutual efforts in this regard have been successful and our client and the defendants, Tiwa Savage and Mavin Records, have come to a common understanding and agreed on the terms for the discontinuation of the suit. Therefore we shall no longer be proceeding with the court action.”

According to Young’s lawyer, Justin Ige, the decision to settle out of court stemmed from the respondents (Tiwa Savage & Mavin Records) reaching out to his client and requesting that the case be settled out of court.
Both parties considered an out-of-court settlement for the first time at a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos on November 6.

”I sincerely want to apologize to close friends, relatives, well wishers who may have been affected by my actions or inactions over the years. I have always stood for a better Nigeria,equal rights and an agitator for a system in place in our country so adequate compensation be given to not only Nigerian songwriters but song writers and creators all over the world ,an industry where all players in the creative process are recognized and credited for their contribution to any piece of work used commercially or otherwise.
I will never be intimidated by any threat My intention has never been to expose anybody but the truth finds it’s way out eventually. My issues with Mr Innocent Idibia aka 2face & co are purely professional and my lawyers have filed my claims in Court, to be served to all parties in due time. I apologize for the delay in taking this step, i was hoping they would do the right thing and the need for me to take them to court will not arise but alas I was wrong.
I believe the legal system will resolve this eventually. I will also continue to defend myself in the 50Million suit they filled against me which comes up for mediation on the 25th of November 2019.
Meanwhile, I will not make any further statements on this issue until both lawsuits are concluded as I have entrusted this matter to my lawyers and the justice system. I appreciate all the good wishes from those who have reached out with their concerns over this protracted matter. Please bear with me as we calmly await the resolution of these cases.

Post-Election Violence: Thugs burn Kogi PDP women leader to death

Shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of Kogi governorship election, political thugs continued on their killing spree.
According to reports from Kogi, the woman leader of Wada Aro Campaign Council, Ochadamu Ward, Hon Mrs Acheju Abuh was reportedly burnt alive in her home by alleged jubilant supporters and thugs said to be celebrating their party’s victory.
Reacting to the evil act, the spokesman, Wada/Aro Campaign Council, Faruk Adejoh-Audu was quoted saying “chanting GYB 4+4, the thugs, shooting sporadically, arrived Hon (Mrs) Abuh’s house at about 2pm this afternoon and surrounded the house, bolting every exit and escape from outside”.

“They then poured petrol on the building and set it ablaze as other terrorized villagers watched from hiding. She reportedly attempted to escape through a window but was prevented by the metal burglary proof and gun shots with bullets raining in her direction.
“The blood thirsty thugs waited, shooting and watching with relish while Mrs Abuh cried from inside the inferno until her voice died out. They reportedly left only when the entire house and Mrs Abuh had been burnt to ashes. There are fears that the killing spree may escalate over the night.
“We are calling on all men of good conscience to immediately help the people of Kogi State appeal to the Inspector General of Police to rein in Bello’s thugs and protect our people whose only crime was that they voted for their choice, a vote that was never allowed to count.
“Unless Nigerians of Good conscience immediately come to our aid innocent people may die worse agonizing deaths as the blood lust of Mr Bello and his supporters continue. “So far there’s no indication that the Kogi State Police will arrest her killers or even prevent further attacks and killings of people.”
