A 45-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly cutting off his pregnant girlfriend’s nipples.<br />Tony Ledbetter from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is facing eight charges of aggravated assault.<br />Police allege he beat the 39-year-old woman repeatedly, slamming her head on the ground before trying to silence her screams by shoving a blanket in to her mouth.<br />At some point during the attack, he is accused of going to find a pair of scissors which he used to then mutilate her breasts.<br />The woman, who has not been named, was able to escape and ask for help, Keloland reports.<br />Ledbetter, whose bond has been set at $250,000, called 911 himself to report the incident.<br />Sioux Falls Public Information Officer Sam Clemens described the case as ‘disturbing’.<br />‘He ended up punching her in the face, slamming her head on the ground several times.<br />‘She was yelling and screaming for him to get off of her. He then took his forearm and put it to her throat, basically restricting her air.<br />‘The really disturbing part is when he went and grabbed some scissors and sat on top of her and used those scissors to cut off her nipples.’<br /><span style="font-family: Lora, Georgia, serif; font-size: 15px;">Ledbetter will appear before court in Lincoln County this week.</span> </blockquote>

Firstly, it was people that brought the government into power. More than half of those people are not appointed into the government. Some people that are not politicians, not professionals were brought into the government. They don’t even know what we said we want and what we don’t during the campaign.  They even come out and say to people we are not politicians, but they are occupying the offices meant for politicians. Some have parted with their wives, some lost their children lost, some women too have parted with their husbands because of politics, a lot happened during the time. The way things are going I too I am not happy. We are just starting, we have not finished. Some people that worked for the government have been appointed. But those heading government agencies you can find one fighting his state governor, they contested together during election one in APC while in PDP.<br style="box-sizing: border-box;" /> </span></div>

Not even now in 2016 or 17, lot of people are creating divisions within the APC, which is our source of concern. They think they have worked for the government while those appointed some of them had no voter’s card. What I fear is uprising of 15.4 million people.</span></div>

Even if you are asked to, you should say it is not my profession.  Those places not headed by politicians will cause people discontent.</span></div>

<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">The Senate on Thursday passed for third reading and approved the extension of the validity period of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination results to three academic years.</span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">Presenting the report titled “Report on a bill for an Act to Amend the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Act and for other matters connected thereof, 2016 (SB. 245), at plenary, Chairman of the Committee, Senator Jibrin Barau, (APC-Kano North) explained that the purpose of the bill was to amend the JAMB Act to increase validity period of JAMB examination from one academic year to three academic years.</span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">According to him, the Board shall only conduct matriculations examinations as the sole examinations required for admission and entry into all Universities, polytechnics and colleges of education, to the exclusion of any other institution or body.</span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">He said Section 6 (1) of the new Act states: ” Any examination conducted by the Board pursuant to the powers conferred by this Act shall be valid for a period of three academic years from the date of the examination.</span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“A candidate meeting the requirements for admission and being duly qualified shall remain so qualified for the period prescribed in subsection (1) of this section.</span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">“A candidate awaiting admission shall be given preference in the succeeding year over fresh applicants who shall only become eligible when the backlog had been cleared.”</span><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif;">It would be recalled that the Upper Chamber had directed its Committee on Education to inquire into circumstances surrounding the JAMB policy including all allegations of favouritism and generally review the power of the Board vis-a-vis administration and submit its findings to it.</span></span></blockquote>
