Team World picked up another win at the NBA Africa Game, beating their hosts in the 2017 edition, 108-97 in Johannesburg at the weekend.

The World squad opened with a 33-19 first period, but Team Africa forged two deadlocks, and even a one-point lead, 44-43, in the second period, following a split at the line by Dennis Schroder.

Things were still tied going into the fourth period, 77-all, but Team World got out to an 11-2 run for an 88-79 cushion. A triple by Victor Oladipo made it a one-point affair, 98-97, still 1:36 to play, but Kyle Lowry, Andre Drummond and Jaylen Brown put the finishing touches on this one. Schroder turned the ball over on the next Africa possession, and then missed triples sealed their fate.

Boston Celtics sophomore forward Jaylen Brown top-scored for Team World with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Kristaps Porzingis and Andre Drummond had 14 points apiece, plus a combined 21 rebounds. Kyle Lowry chipped in 13 markers, seven boards, five dimes, and four swipes.

The Manute Bol MVP award was given to new Indiana Pacer Victor Oladipo, for his game-high 28 points (4-of-14 3FG).

He also tallied nine rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block. Denver Nuggets floor general Emmanuel Mudiay just missed a triple-double, finishing with 22 points, eight rebounds, and
nine assists. Dennis Schroder had 13 points, while Clint Capela had a double-double in limited minutes, 10 markers and 11 caroms.

Luol Deng and Joel Embiid did not play for Team Africa. Team World won the 2015 edition of this game, 101-97.
