Four-way battle for Lemar

Arsenal are involved in a four-way battle to sign Monaco star Thomas Lemar .
Arsene Wenger has had THREE bids for the midfielder rejected with Monaco holding out for £50million. Both Liverpool and Manchester City are keen on the 21-year-old who has five caps for France.
But now Barcelona have entered the contest – armed with the significant financial clout following the £190m move of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain.
Wenger is ready to up his offer to £50m for Lemar – but Monaco know that Barcelona can now outbid any competitors.
Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim admitted on Friday night that “it is not always possible to keep hold of your players,” as the likes of Lemar, Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho continue to be linked with moves away from the club.

Everton eye Welbeck

Ronald Koeman will turn his attention to Danny Welbeck if he can’t broker a deal for Olivier Giroud .
Everton’s boss has Giroud fixed firmly in his sights – but the Arsenal forward wants to see if he features in Arsene Wenger’s immediate plans.
However, Koeman needs a focal point to his attack since the Toffees off-loaded Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United for £75m.
Although they have added Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney to the ranks, the club is still seeking a striker that can act as a genuine targetman – and has the pace to stretch teams.

Conte powerless to stop Hazard exit

Antonio Conte has claimed he is powerless to stop Chelsea selling Eden Hazard .
The Blues boss heads into today’s Community Shield amid growing speculation over the future of the Belgium star.
Hazard will miss the Wembley date against Arsenal through injury but he has long been on the radar of Real Madrid.
And with Barcelona expected to make a statement following the shock £199m sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain this week, the former Footballer of the Year is again the centre of attention.
And Conte said it will be out of his hands if the club decides to cash in.

Saints agree Lemina deal

Southampton have reportedly agreed a deal for Juventus midfielder Mauro Lemina.
Lemina has been linked with Arsenal and Watford but now appears to be on his way to the south coast.
A £18m fee has been agreed, according to Sky Sports.

Sandro going nowhere

Chelsea’s hopes of signing Juventus left-back Alex Sandro have been dashed.
The Blues have been keen on Sandro all summer and have had a bid rejected.
Antonio Conte was expected to renew his interest before the end of the window but that now appears unlikely.

Kylian Mbappe fuels speculation over move to Manchester City

Kylian Mbappe has fuelled speculation over a move to Manchester City after tweeting a picture of himself with Blues winger Leroy Sane.
Benjamin Mendy, who made the move from Monaco to Manchester earlier this season, then replied to the tweet to send City fans into overdrive.
The French forward, who featured in Monaco’s 3-2 win over Toulouse on Friday night, jetted over to England the next day to participate in a promotional event.
Sane was also in Manchester for the event following City’s 3-0 pre-season win over West Ham in Iceland.

Ronaldo puts Premier League clubs on red alert

Cristiano Ronaldo has put the Premier League’s elite on red alert after telling the Spanish court he wants to leave the country for England.
The Portuguese, who is currently involved in a court case over tax fraud, explained he never had any problems of this sort while playing for Manchester United.
The Real Madrid forward, who claimed he always pays his tax, said: “In England, I never had these problems, that’s why I want to go back there.
“I always paid my taxes, always. In England and In Spain. And I always paid. As you know, I can not hide anything, it would be ridiculous on my part to do such a thing.”
