Obasanjo to chair session at 38th Kaduna trade fair

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is expected to chair the seminar at the forthcoming Kaduna Chamber of Commerce and Industry 38th Trade Fair scheduled for February 24, the president of the chamber has said.
Speaking during a visit to the headquarters of Media Trust in Abuja yesterday, the President of the Chamber, Dr. Muheeba Farida Dankaka, said measures had been put in place to ensure that all participants are safe during the fair.
The fair, which is scheduled to hold from February 24 to March 5, 2017, has the theme ‘Promoting Public Private Partnership as Panacea for Accelerated Growth and Development’.
Dr. Dankaka disclosed that many foreign and local exhibitors have declared interest for the fair. The president also said the chamber was not unmindful of the promotion of locally made goods and incentives have been given to exhibitors with goods manufactured in Nigeria.
“We are trying to promote our own locally made goods more than foreign goods. That’s why we have less foreigners coming in and more of made in Nigeria goods,” she said.
She also said that spaces that would be allocated to exhibitors would be minimally charged to ensure that prices of goods exhibited were not exorbitant and beyond the reach of average Nigerians. The director general of the chamber, Usman Saulawa, said the Kaduna Trade Fair Complex has one of the best facilities in the North for a memorable trade fair experience.
He said the cost of the complex for exhibitors was among the cheapest in the country and the essence is to provide the platform for buyers and sellers of goods.
“We provide the opportunity for manufacturers to showcase their products and services,” the DG said.
