According to Naij.com, the Federal Govt of Nigeria has begin the payment of 5000 Naira as promised by President Buhari during his campaign. The FGN already started with Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme with biometric capture and account opening which commenced in Borno camps for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP).
The programme is a part of the scheme under the ‘Social Investment Programmes’ of the government of Muhammadu Buhari. According to this initiative, one million extremely poor Nigerians would receive 5,000 naira monthly in 2016.According to report gather, VP O sibanjo's aide, Laolu Akande said World Bank and the Bill Gates Foundation were also cooperating with the federal government to develop an efficient payment system. “All together, about 60 billion naira has been estimated to be paid out to extremely poor Nigerians,” Akande said in a statement.
