Even though I try to keep quite on this issue, but then I thought about the suffering that my people are going through. I feel deeply hurt inside. My heart bleed in pain to read that months after the federal government of Nigeria released bail out fund to Kogi state governor, workers have still no receive their salary for over five (5) months. The people of Kogi state are dying of hunger secretly, yet we are in the era of change. How can a governor who has not paid the labour force of a state for over five months thinks of buying cars for tradition rulers, house of assembly members, commissioners, local government administrators at a whooping sum and surprising 12 million dollars. What stir up the anger to write this article as you may call it, is the fact that the governor is borrowing money to finance the purchase of these cars. According to Naij report, the document is signed already to get a loan from zenith bank with an interest rate of 8% repayable for 3years. This is plunging the state into debt. With what is going in the country, one will think that a governor of one of the poorest state in Nigeria should have being practically wise in spending, considering the fact that workers have being paid for 5 months now. How do you expect the people to live? Nigeria economy is mess up; life is unbearable for the people of Kogi state. They can barely pay school fees of their pupils, in fact schools resume in a week time.  I think this is callous of a governor to have made such a move in the first place. For an individual to be appointed to manage the affair of the state, that such individual should realize that the indigene did not put him there to do them a favour, but to serve the people. In addition, I think the mandate is for the people to decide. The decision to say NO to over spending of public fund on themselves thinking they are doing us a favour. Over spending of public fund must stop. We the people of kogi state must stand up for our right. We put this people there not to make us suffer but to manage our affair in our best interest. Therefore, I call on Mr President to take into consideration of the issue in kogi state. This should be considering as an act of corruption that must be quickly address. Mr President, in your first speech as the president of Nigeria, you made us to believe that you belong to nobody and you belong to everybody, in which we all see as a welcome development in other to move Nigeria to it destination. This is the time to act. The decision to infect unnecessary hardship on the people of kogi and purchasing of cars for few high ly place people, appointed to manage the affair of the people by Governor Yahya Bello must stop. The people of kogi are dying of hunger and starvation. Please Mr President intervene on behave of the people of Kogi state.
