Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Friday appointed administrators for local councils in the state.
The governor during a ceremony at the Government House in Lokoja swore in administrators for 20 out of the 21 local government areas in the state, leaving out Lokoja local government, which he said will be announced later
The new administrators are to inaugurate four other members for their respective councils on Monday.
Addresing the administrators in government, the governor said their every step will be watched at the new positions.
He added: “You are going to be monitored by this state and even your opponents. You are owing a lot of salaries. As Mr. President has graciously released part of our bailout funds, ensure they are cleared.
“For any security issue from your local government areas, I will hold you responsible. Flush out criminals from amongst you. It is why security chiefs are here.
“Every kobo of LGA funds must be accounted for. I, Yahaya Bello, will not send anyone to get money from you. Disregard any request for money from anyone however highly placed in my government.”
The governor added, “No one can boast they were instrumental to your being appointed. Your allegiance should be to this state and to your people at the grass root. Our people have suffered enough.
“I hereby inaugurate you and give you the authority to inaugurate other four members of the committee by Monday. The list shall be given to you, signed by me.”
