Apart from the tumble in Forte Oil’s stock price, Otedola’s fortune has also been adversely affected by a central bank devaluation of the Naira in June. In dollar terms, the devaluation in addition to Forte’s floundering share price has knocked about $1.3 billion off the value of Otedola’s fortune which was pegged at $1.8 billion in March.</blockquote>

Otedola, who is Forte Oil Plc’s Chairman, is now worth only $550 million as at the close of business of Friday, according to the FORBES’ billionaires’ database.</blockquote>

<span style="font-size: x-small;"> “I live in Ogwushi -Ukwu, Delta state. My friend, Ekene, called me on the phone to inform me that he has a job for me. This was three weeks ago. I hurriedly came to Lagos and stayed with him in Ajah, I met another of his friend, Samuel. He told us that Madam Chika promised him N500,000 to kill her husband. Thereafter, he told Samuel to take me to Mr Orji’s house, so as to be able to identify the target. We went there and hid inside a tricycle, waiting for Mr. orji, whom we were told always opened his gate himself whenever he returned home. But on that day, it was his daughter that opened the gate. We went back the next day, it was his daughter that opened the gate again. By the time we went the third day, it was Mr. Orji that opened the gate himself. The plan was to rush to him and stab him eight times in the chest, rib and neck. But Samuel, who was supposed to stab him went to buy cigarette and by the time he came back, our target had gone inside and shut the gate. Out of frustration, I went back home and told Ekene to give me my own share of the money that I was going home. But he said that madam Chika would only pay after the deed was done. I decided to go into Mr. Orji’s apartment to steal instead, in order to get some money to go back to Delta state. But as I was trying to jump through the fence, somebody raised alarm and I was arrested by vigilantes. I was tied with a wire and beaten without mercy. I had to open up when they almost killed me.”</span></div>

<span style="font-size: x-small;">Meanwhile the accused woman has denied the allegation, claiming she only asked them to beat him up for denying her access to their children and selling their property without giving her share of the money.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px none; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 22px; margin: 0px; padding: 5px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">She said: “We got married 14 years ago and have three daughters and a son. All of a sudden, my husband suddenly became a wife beater. He would beat me and leave me with swollen face. He threatened to kill me. It continued until three years ago, when he finally chased me out of the house and denied me access to my children. I made several efforts to get my children back, part of which was to report him to human rights offices for settlement but he did not honour any of the invitations. Both families have made attempts to settle us but he would not listen. He was served with a court warrant over the issue but he also refused to show up. Along the line, he sold the house we both built, for N85 million but never gave me any dime. He also stopped my children from visiting me and any attempt to see them always resulted in beating. Out of frustration, I told Ekene, our carpenter, to beat him up, so as to teach him a lesson. I did not hire anyone to kill him. I am a frustrated woman and I am sorry for everything.”‎she said</span></div>

"My dear, I am very much alive, hale and hearty," he told Vanguard newspaper. "At least, you can hear me speak and certainly, a dead person cannot speak. "The rumour is baseless and can best be described as the work of my detractors because they envy what God has done and what He is still doing for me. What I am doing is divine. It is an assignment and I will keep doing it till the end. I am seated outside of my house and I am speaking with you live in Bida without any problem with my health. What I am doing is divine. It is an assignment and I will keep doing it till the end."</blockquote>

Mr Bello had married a total of 107 women in his time, and divorced 10. He shot to international fame in August 2008, back when he had 86 wives, when he gave interviews to journalists and film crews explaining his unusual living situation and that “God has asked me to do it”.</div>
<div id="m_-8078735500378555524m_-3011597385835701382yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1476716672852_5565" style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">

But Mr Bello said his own interpretation was that the Koran does not place a limit and it is up to what your own power, your own endowment and ability allows. That non-standard pronouncement saw him arrested later in 2008 at the request of the local Shariah Court, with the emir in Bida accusing him of “creating tension” by speaking to journalists. The court released him in November 2008 on the condition that he divorce 82 of his 86 wives. He did not comply.</div>

<div>
The cleric was rumoured to have died in June 2012. After the reports of his death surfaced, he gave an indepth interview The Nation in which he proclaimed he was not finished marrying yet.</div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
"My large number of wives? I only have 97 wives," he said. "I am still going to marry more. I will keep marrying them for as long I am alive.  Left for me, I would have married maybe two wives, but what I am doing is divine. I just want to advise those fighting against the number of my wives to stop because such people are waging war against God, their creator."</blockquote>

The 'kneeling down during anthem' action is one in a long list of incidents across the country in sporting grounds. It is seen as a protest for racial injustice and segregation in the United States.</div>

According to reports, no young athletes in America have paid the price for this demonstration like the  Beaumont Bulls football team players in Beaumont, Texas.</div>

On <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1696638428" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ"><span style="color: #222222;">Sept. 10</span></span></span>, after getting permission from league officials, the staff and students of the Beaumont Bulls football team took a knee before their game. <br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
After a few days the board issued a warning to the players and coach not to engage in the protest again, but the team defied the orders and knelt down on Monday, October 17th and also won that match.</div>

<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
The Executive board, incensed at the disobedience of the boys and the coaching crew, suspended Coach Rah-Rah Barber a decision that shocked and also annoyed the boys seeing that he was a great leader and mentor to them all.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">
So the boys decided to stop training until the coach is reinstated and informed the board of their decision.</div>

The Executive board decided that instead of reinstating the coaches and allowing the protests, they'd simply cancel the rest of the season and that's exactly what they did.</div>
